The SS oficers in the concentration camps were very harsh to all of the Jewish prisoners, especially the women. Most of then were concidered useless and were killed in gas furnaces. Others who had stayed alive, were brutally beaten, starved to death, or raped. Some women became pregnant and had to either hide their pregnancy or were forced to abort the babies. Children were also treated the worse than the men. Infants were used as target practice for the officers. They would be thrown into the air and shot. Some died with the mothers in the gas chambers while the rest were forced to work hard labor. In response to: What were the first concentration camps? Where and why were they established?
