The U.S., although begged by Jewish leaders, did not respond to the horror of concentration camps in the way many would have wished. Groups such as the Jewish Veterans issued propaganda against buying German products. The United States, due to a mixture of anti-semetism, xenophobism, the Depression, and isolation, did not bomb the gas chambers or railways at Aushwits as many leaders would have liked, but rather an area five miles away. Even after president Roosevelt reported on the Warsaw Ghetto Masacre, no executive action was taken against the Nazis. In response to: Describe the US and world response to the Holocaust.
