West Ridge Elementary School
Harlan, Iowa

Our class had fun searching for problems encountered by Peter and Mr. McGregor as we read The Tale of Peter Rabbit. Mr. McGregor was wasting a lot of time looking for Peter! We think he should either lower all his gates so Peter can’t get into the garden again, or plant a special garden for rabbits outside the gate. We hope you have fun reading our letters to discover the advice we gave to our friend, Peter. Be sure to try the special Peter Rabbit quiz we wrote for all the Bunny Readers.

 Dear Peter Rabbit,

We read a book about you going to Mr. McGregor’s garden. You wanted more food, but it’s not safe in his garden! We think you should grow your own garden, or go to Mr. McGregor’s garden at night. We liked your story.

Your friends,

Brooke, Ryan, Sonoka, and Steven

  Dear Peter Rabbit,

We read a book about you. You should stay out of Mr. McGregor’s garden. We think you should plant your own garden, so you don’t get put into a pie. Listen to your mother, and you will be a happy, living bunny.

Your friends,

Brandon, Carly, and Tony

 Dear Peter Rabbit,

We read your story by Beatrix Potter. You almost got caught by Mr. McGregor, and you got sick from hiding in that watering can. You should plant your own garden in your own backyard. You’ll be happy, because you won’t have to worry anymore about getting caught by Mr. McGregor.

Your friends,

Jon, Jordan, and Kassie

 Dear Peter Rabbit,

We read the story about you. Peter, stay out of Mr. McGregor’s garden because you might be a pie! Go to the garden only at night when the lights are out. The best thing to do is plant your own garden. We hope you enjoy growing your own garden.

Your friends,

Alisha, Brian, Britanny, and Michael

 Dear Peter Rabbit,

We read about your story and heard what you did. You shouldn’t go into Mr. McGregor’s garden when he’s there. Please stay out of his garden in the daytime. If you go at night, you won’t get caught. Have fun eating your vegetables.

Your friends,

Deidre, Janessa, Jerrad, And Kaitlyn
