Our first
book was Lilly's Chocolate Heart by Kevin Henkes. Mrs.
Baker read the first few pages. Lilly wants to save her last
chocolate heart, but can't find a good place to hide it. Then we
had to think of a good place to put a chocolate heart. We each
wrote a sentence telling where we would put our heart and drew a
picture of it using Paint. That was fun! Then Mrs. Baker
finished reading the story. Were we surprised to find out where
Lilly put her chocolate heart! (We think she had the best idea!)
Here are a
couple of our story sentences and drawings:
Next we read
I Like Chocolate by Robin Pickering. We made a list of
all the different kinds of chocolate foods we could think of.
Each one of us voted for our favorite using tally marks. Then we
graphed our results using The Graph Club. The choices were
chocolate cake, hot chocolate, chocolate covered banana,
chocolate covered strawberry, chocolate milk, chocolate pudding,
chocolate ice cream, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate candy
bars, and chocolate kisses. Can you tell which was our favorite?
