Our class
began the project by reading 'Curious George Goes to a Chocolate
Factory' by Margaret and H.A. Rey. After reading the book we
passed around M&M's and the children thought of as many words as
they could to describe chocolate which we listed on the board.
We also made a list of verbs to describe the act of eating the
chocolate which we also listed on the board.
Once the
lists were complete I described the activity in which children
would write a cinquain about chocolate. I provided the following
frame:
Chocolate,
chocolate
(verb+ing), (verb+ing)
Chocolate!
(adjective), (adjective), (adjective)
(Write your own sentence about chocolate)
