First, we read Chocolate Fever by Eric Kimmel Smith and then watched the same video to compare it to the book. We found they were very similar. Next, we read The Chocolate Touch by Patrick Skene Catling. Then, we read Chocolatina by Erik Kraft. We then compared/contrasted the main characters from each of these books. Then, we formed groups of four and each group member was responsible for illustrating and writing about one of the story elements. We then scanned them into the computer and made a PowerPoint story map. Our chocolate fun isn't over yet...We still plan to graph and count with M&Ms, graph our favorite chocolate story, and collect data about our favorite kinds of chocolate!
