My Second Grade Memories

I was here in second grade for a year. I can't believe it will be over soon. I still remember all the fieldtrips. I still remember all the fun. I'll never forget all the units we learned. We learned about apples. I loved our first site we ever made. It was called "An Apple a Day." We also learned about bears. I remember we watched a movie. we also read lots of books. When we finally learned about whales we read books. We saw movies. Oh, and whales are my favorite animals. I also met a lot of friends. I have two best friends. Their names are Andromahi and Deanna. They're the best friends a girl could ever have. I also love the computers. But the real star is Mrs. Silverman. Thank you Mrs. Silverman. I'll never forget second grade.

Amber Brown Is Not A Crayon

By Paula Danziger

Amber Brown is not a crayon, is a cool book. It's about a girl my age and in 3rd grade. Her best friend is Justin Daniels. They tell each other lots of stuff. But when Justin figures out that he's moving, things change. Justin does not talk to Amber. Amber gets so mad that they had a fight. But don't worry at the end they become friends again. I liked this book because it was funny and sad.

My Life in the 1800's

If I lived in the 1800's I would probably get whipped 1,000 times for moving in church. So would my sister. Well, here's my story. It all started on Sunday known as the Sabbath. Well, you won't believe this but we have to stay still for two hours in church. I could not help myself but I just had to scratch my nose. And...yep you guessed it. I got tanned. And that's why I would not want to live in the 1800's.
I also liked the story "The Story of Grandpa's Sled and the Pig." I liked it because it's fun to learn about the 1800's.

Cyclops Loses His Lunch

Cyclops is a giant. He eats people. Now, today he was very, very hungry. So he went to town. He saw that no one was there. So he knocked on everyone's door. Now, there was someone in the village who was the smartest. He knew about the cyclops. So, when the cyclops knocked on the door, he said, "Come in." The cyclops came in the house, he said, "Do you want to come over to my house for dinner tomorrow night?" The smartest person said okay. So, when he came to cyclops's house he had a wonderful dinner and dessert. Then cyclops asked, "Do you want to take a rest on my couch?" "No, but I have to give you a present." Then he threw a bag over the cyclops's head and threw him over Mt. Olympus. And that's how the smartest person saved himself. The end.

Mexico

Mexico is a hot place, where people have siestas and fiestas. Mexican people mostly eat tortillas with every meal. The people eat tacos, corn, beans, and tortillas. Where Mexican people get their food is in a market place. There is a certain time in Mexico when people take a siesta. Mexican people wear hats called sombreros. This is how Mexican people say yes... "si." And this is how they say thank you... "gracias." Well, that's my paragraph.

Sometimes I Feel Like a Wolf

Sometimes I feel like an alpha because when my mom goes out to get pizza she lets me babysit. It's fun, sure the kids scream and act like they're in charge. And there are times when I feel like an omega. I feel like an omega when I get in trouble.

Drenched and Dry

Today in class we did a science experiment. First we colored the penguin and didn't color the cat. Next we sprinkled water on both the penguin and cat. Then we curled up the paper. We saw that the cat was soaked. We also saw that the penguin was dry. I learned that penguins have wax on them. We learned that cats don't have wax on them. Wax keeps out the cold and lets in the warmness. This project was fun.

If I Were A Shark

I fell asleep. Being a shark was only in my dreams. I was a shark. I had gills. I was a fish. I was free. But I had some problems, like fishermen chasing me. There I was in the ocean swimming, until I saw a fishing rod. "Just in time," I said. But the next day they came back. I kept on running away until one day the fishermen came back one more time. Do you know what I did? I bit them!

The Girl Who Loved Wild Horses

I would like to live with wild horses because I love their shiny skin. I love to watch them be free. And I love to watch them jump up.

Science Experiment

Interaction Unit

First we had bromthymol blue. Then we added water. Then we added vinegar. First the color changed to blue, then to green, and then clear.

Watermelon Math

Math was different because we ate watermelon. It was sweet. First we spit out the seeds. Then we counted the seeds. After we filled in a graph. I had fun.
