SECOND GRADE MEMORIES by Ms. Cobb's Class
In second grade I learned how to do math. Some things were how to multiply, divide, do symmetry, geometry, plus, and subtract. it was a lot of fun for me. We also planted some seeds. My peas are growing fine but my beans I don't want to talk about. We also did germination bags. we wanted to see if seeds would sprout without soil. They did. I had fun doing it. By Steven L.	I remember when I started 2nd grade. I read my first chapter book. It was my first one because in first grade I was always drawing silly faces. Now I like to read chapter books. I also learned dividing and times in second grade. In summer I want to go in the pool. I also will go camping and save up my money to buy Beany Babies and Lego sets. I am going to buy icecream from the icecream man and also buy Snappers. by Calvin
In second grade I remember the first time I got on the high bars at recess. Wen I got off I got hurt. I scraped my knee and went to the nurse. I learned lots of math because of Ms. Cobb. That is why I love math! In math we did times tables. It was fun. My mom was in shock. by Kristen A.	In second grade I planted sunflower seeds, peas, and beans. The peas are growing but the beans are not. We are observing fruit flies. I like watching them. I got a book called "Come Back Here Crocodile." There are some poems and fairy tales in it. In second grade I learned adding and subtracting 3 digits. I learned about animals. I learned to write words in sentences too. We had lots of birthdays. My birthday was in September. I learned to read chapter books too. In summer I plan to do a book club with my cousin. We will read American Girl books. We will tell about the book. I liked the part of the year when we made our spring mobiles because I like to color, cut and tie things together. I plan to spend my summer going to Splish Splash and Lake George. I love to write poems. They are very fun. I want to be a poetess when I grow up. I think it's very fun. It's fun to be a second grader. You get to read and do book reports. Over the summer I'm going to read books because it's great. I'm going to watch some T.V. I'm going to try to find all the books in the house. Then it will be 12:00 when I read the last one. I'm going to watch Nickelodeon. I really love the show Rugrats. It's about babies. One is Tommy, Phil, Lili, and Angelica. by Marie-Anne H.	When I first came into class I felt nervous. As the year went on I got used to Ms. Cobb and my class. We watched movies and read stories. My favorite story was "Trumpet of the Swan." We even made our own hard cover books. I am working on my second hard covered book. Second grade is hard and easy. Now I am going to leave second and it will be summer soon. In the summer I am going to recreation with my father. I learned times tables and how to divide in math. I'm going to miss second grade. by Lauren

I remember when I finished my first chapter book. It was 16 chapters long. I was happy. The book was called "On the Edge Four True Stories of Extreme Outdoor Adventure." It was cool . I plan to go to Universal Studio for my sister's early birthday present this summer. I think I will see "Back to the Future." by Brian	I'm still in second grade and I remember writing animal poems. The poem I really hated to write was the love poem. I really like the sport and animal ones. I also remember about math. It was hard for me to add and subtract three digits but it isn't hard anymore. In the summer I'm going to Universal Studions in Orlando, Florida. After that I'm going to Animal Kingdom. I think I'm going to have a great time. by Danny A.
My favorite thing about second grade was learning how to do math. My favorite kind of math is fractions because they are easy. The kind of math I don't like is division because it is hard and boring. I plan to sleep over my aunt's house with my friend on one of my vacation days. I also plan to go to Splish Splash with my cousin. by TJ	In second grade I learned math. We learned more math. In second grade I liked when we had to do book reports and spelling tests. I don't think math was so great. On my summer vacation I might get to go mountain climbing. I also get to go scuba diving with some professionals in Portugal. I hope no one gets stung by a Portuguese manta ray. by David R.	In second grade I learned how to spell words right. In second grade we learned how to read. Now we are writing Book Awards. I did six of them I am happy. During my summer vacation I am going to Florida. This school year I liked the teacher and book reports. I learned how to read fifth grade books. I learned about animals that are endangered. I also learned how to divide. I learned how to measure too. I didn't like measuring a lot. This summer I plan to go to Texas for a month. I will go camping with my mom, my dad, my sister, my aunt and my uncle. We will have a party with some classmates. I will get new school supplies. I will go in the sprinklers and the pool at my house. I will get ready for third grade too. by Megan L. When we did times tables we learned to go to 5s. It was fun. We did Book-It. I read 10 books and wrote about them. It was the best thing I did in a long time. I read a book called "You and Me." I love that book. It is fun to read. by Allison C.	I liked when I did my bear book. The part I liked about it was the coloring. I also liked writing it. Mine is called "The Leprechaun Who Lost His Gold." I also liked the play "Oh My Deer." I liked the songs from the play. I also liked Kim's part in the play. She said, "They trampled my petunias, left muddy footprints on my stoop. I even caught one in my kitchen eating chicken soup." She was talking about a deer. by Justin
