I love Long Island because we can go to the Bronx Zoo and we can go see Annie on Broadway. I love Long Island because we have beautiful parks and flowers, trees, and beaches. by Katelyn R. Ms. Cobb's Second Grade Class
I think Long Island is special because the ferry I go to Connecticut is on Long Island. I like riding the ferry because the food is good. I also think that Long Island is special because my best friends Calvin, Stephen L., Stephen A. and Danny live here. It is also special because when I go to the mall sometimes I go to Time Out and I play race car games. I usually win first place. Sometimes we go to the Gap to buy clothes for my sister which is really boring to me. by Brian	I like Long Island because in Stony Brook I like to go to the duck pond and feed the ducks. There is my dad's office here also. He works for the D.E.C. and I like to go to his office because he moved into a new room. I love Long Island because I love to go fishing in the ocean. I love Long Island because it has beaches you can swim in. It has farms that care for animals. It has rocks. When you step on them they hurt your feet. It has whales that glide in the water and sharks that scare people. I like Long Island because you can pick pretty roses and look at the green trees. I like to go to Benner's Farm for programs. I am going there for summer camp. I am so excited. At Benner's Farm I've bottle fed a lamb, and we cleaned Soups, the black horse's stall. We also went on the big swing! We held ducks, bunnies, and chicks. I also like to go to George's Card Store for Beanie Babies. I like to walk on the beaches too. by Victoria	I love Long Island because it's the best place for fishing. I love Long Island because it has a lot of things to do. For example I like to go to the beach and hear the beach's sounds like the sand and the ocean's waves hitting against the rocks on the shore or the sound of the seagulls on the beach. I love Long Island's smells like the smell of the sea water or the smell of fresh air. I love Long Island's tastes like the taste of icecream melting in the sun on hot days. I love Long Island's landscape like the trees, the grass, the fields, and the many waters of Long Island. I especially love the kind gentle people that live here and the animals that live here too like the birds, the racooms, the squirrels, the turtles, and all the living creatures that live on Long Island. The waves look nice from the park at the top of the beach. I like the animals at the beach. My favorite is the crab. I like to build sandcastles. I love to get icecream. Here are some of the animals: fish, deer, squirrels, turtles, and snakes. I also like the sports on Long Island. Here are the sports: baseball, basketball, soccer, football, and gymnastics. Here are some Long Island animals that I like: cats, dogs, ducks, deer, rabbits, turtles, fish, birds, snakes, and butterflys. I like animals but I also like the beaches.
