I am thankful for trees.  Trees give us oxygen. Trees give us shade on a hot sunny day.  Trees are a home for animals.   Trees give us something to climb on.  Trees are the best part of mother nature.

Mr. Eaton's Fifth Grade Class

We give thanks for many things, such as our parents.  They take care of us and give us the best they can.  Our parents make sure we eat and they also help us when we struggle.  Our parents teach us how to behave and they take care of us when we're sick.  Some of us may even have stepparents just as I do.
Our parents make sure we go to school.  they are able to go on field trips with us.   Our parents can be volunteers like my mom, who is president of my school's PTA.
Our parents belong to our families.  There are many kinds of families.  In my family I have aunts, uncles, a brother, two dogs, one grandpa, a grandma, cousins, and a stepfamily of a grandma, grandpa, aunts, and more.
I think we should all be thankful for whatever we habe because there are many people less fortunate than we are.  I am very thankful for my family and everything I have and you should too.
Kerriann R.

We give thanks to our family and friends for always being there for us and their support.  Our friends are always picking us up whenever we are feeling down.
We give thanks for our houses that always are standing because of what our parents do for us.
We give thanks for our health because nothing would be possible without good health.   I would not be able to have fun with family and friends.  That's what we give thanks to.
Megan K.

I give thanks to my family for providing me with food.  I am so lucky to have a family like you.  I love you all so much.  Thank you, so much for all the things you've given me.  You went out and bought me food and supplies that I needed.  I was a well fed, little girl and I still am.
I feel very bad for the people who don't have food or supplies that they need.  Some people in this world are starving to death.  I am glad I am not one of those people.   I think that we should be more grateful for what we have.  Because some people don't have what they need.  there are people hungry everyday, but they don't have the money to buy themselves food.  That is why people are trying to help them get food or give them food.  We have enought food to go around to anybody who needs that food.
Melanie D.

As citizens in the country of the United States of America, we give thanks for our freedom, and the right to vote and choose our leaders because this is a democracy.   We are trusted to obey laws.  If we do not obey them we have the chance to prove ourselves innocent in a fair trial.
As young Americans, we learn about the law and freedom when we study our country.  We should be thankful for all the advantages of living in a country where there is a democracy and there is freedom.
Alex L.

We give thanks for the trees and our teachers.  We give thanks for the trees because they allow us to breathe.  They give us shelter in the rain, shade in the summer, and they are great to climb on.
We also give thanks for our teachers in school.  We give thanks for our teachers because they teach us Math, Reading, English, Social Studies, and Science.  Mr. Eaton is my teacher this year in fifth grade.  He is a great teacher even though he gives homework on Friday.  Mr. Eaton helps with our work and teaches us a lot.  We have many things to be grateful for.
Owen H.

All of us give thanks to peace and life.  For your information, peace means no war and no fighting.  Life means that we're alive.
We all give thanks to peace because if we didn't have it, there would be fighting and war.   We give thanks to life because without it we wouldn't even exist.

I give thanks to my family.  The reaon why I give thanks to my family is because they love and care for me.  That is about some of the things we and I give thanks for.
Kenny G.

We give thanks for schools.  Without schools we learn a lot of important things such as Math, Science, Social Studies, and Reading.  Without schools we wouldn't know much about anything.  Thanks for making schools because we make friends and a smart brain.  When we grow up we will get a good job and raise a family if we do a good job in school.  Even though we will have some trouble sometimes we catch up and learn about grade level work.
We should also thank the teachers, who went to school to teach us.  If they didn't go to school and get good grades we wouldn't learn.  In the future some of us will be teachers and continue the cycle of teachers and smart brains.  When we learn a new thing plenty of people most likely have already learned it.  Teachers are very important for everyone.  If you think you learned everything think again, there are plenty of things you haven't learned yet, so thank a teacher.
Michael K.

We give thanks to the people that share.
We give thanks to the people that care.
We give thanks to these wonderful people everywhere!
We give thanks to the people who are good.
We give thanks to the people who do what they should.
We give thanks to the people who do the best they could.
We give thanks to the people we love.
We give thanks for all of the above.
Lisa P.,  Grade 4, Mrs. McAllister

We are all thankful for something, whether it be for our family, our education or just plain thankful for everything.  When you're in trouble with a bully who wants to fight, you'll most likely have someone by your side.  Even thouth we are all brothers and sisters in God's blood.  I am thankful for my best friend, and that is all I need, my family whom has brought me into this blessful world.
My education in which I have gotten a lot of comments on, for listening.  We are all thankful for our families whom brought us up and gave shelter.  If your parents get mad, don't ever say they don't love you or that you hate them.  For you know just as well as I that you do love them with all your heart.  they have to love you, your parents shouldn't have a heart of ice.  We are all thankful for something, even if you think you don't know.  Love is what makes us what we are.
Melissa C.,  Grade 5, Mrs. Baxter
