The immigrant is also holding a sign that says 'America, Land of the free..?. Then, I see a fence that represents what immigrants faced. Question: What is the opinion of the cartoonist? The opinon of the cartoonist is that a new immigrant is bombarded with so many problems to begin with but other thingfs, ie discrimination made it worse. Question: Why is there a question mark on the sign? There is a question mark on the sign because it's asking, with all of the discrimination that immigrants faced, are they really free?

Land of the free is supposed to mean for everyone however the feel that they have been treated wrong and the saying is false.
