1. In chapter two, I played the role of the connector. 2. The Blaudelaire children missed the comfort of their own home. “As I’m sure you know, to be in one’s own room, in one’s own bed, can make a bleak situation a little bit better…” (12). I remember the first time I went to sleep away camp. I was in fourth grade and it was a soccer sleep away camp. I remember the first day of camp, my soccer cleat ripped in half and I had to get it taped up by the trainer. I remember being so homesick and wanting to be in the comfort of my own home. Throughout the week I appreciated the luxuries of my room more and more. Such as a TV, air-conditioning, a comfortable clean bed and a shower which I didn’t have to wear sandals in. Having a room in which you feel comfortable and safe in is so important to have when going through stressful and tough times because it’s a familiar setting, which you feel safe in.
