Chapter 2 - Literature Circle Role: Connector In chapter two the children were trying to adjust to the terrible tragedy of losing both parents at the same time. The author explained that the children were so miserable that they had a hard time getting out of bed. He explained that when things are really difficult to deal with it is possible to find solace in your room, especially when you are in your own bed. I agree with the author, and love to climb into my bed after being away for a while, or after an extremely trying day. There is such comfort and coziness when you are in your own bed. The fact that the Baudelaire children had no beds of their own, or nothing at all from the remains of their home is very depressing.
