I am the connector for this chapter. Violet, Klaus, and Sunny have lost their parents and are feeling stunned and shocked by the news Mr. Poe has given them. Over this past spring break I lost someone close to me, because of a brain hemorage. It is very difficult losing loved ones, and more so when it is so sudden and unexpected. Unfortunately, for the Baudelaire children they do not have any family that is there to comfort them during their difficult time. I feel so sorry for them, and hope that something good will happen to cheer them up. However from what Lemony Snicket has told us, I am not really expecting any good fortune to come their way. In response to: Please describe your thoughts on this chapter from your literature circle role perspective.
