Well im not sure what year this story took place but if it was a long time ago maybe Mrs.Baudelaire was cooking in the fire place and somthing hanging over the mantle caught fire and burnt the mansion to the ground. In response to: What do you think caused the Baudelaire Mansion to burn to the ground?
