I think that Count Olaf purposely "forgot" to tell the orphans that he wanted roast beef because he knew that they would complain to Mr.Poe and he wouldn't help. This would lower their chances of figuring out the master plan devised by Olaf. The Orphans would spend valuable time crying.... In response to: Please answer ONE question: 1. If you were Klaus, what would you do when Count Olaf hit you? 2. Why didn't Count Olaf mention he wanted roast beef in his note to the orphans? 3. Where do you think the orphans will be spending most of their time and why?
