John and Jane realized after adding the Yellow they were missing the color Green.

John and Janes mother told them to mix the colors Yellow and Blue together. When they were finished mixing they realized that they made the color Green!

Then they added their layer of Green to their Rainbow that they painted followed by the color Blue to their painting.
