Worried that their son might grow up to be religious leader, the King and Queen keep Siddhartha from ever leaving their palace. From a young age, Siddhartha was trained to be a great emperor and tutored by the best scholars from all of India. Siddhartha was not allowed to see any person or animal suffer from pain. Siddhartha knew nothing about death and suffering as he grew older.
