Mrs. Marshall's Second Grade Class
JFK Elementary School
East Islip, New York

What a wonderful autumn Mrs. Marshall’s second grade class has had! After reading many wonderful pieces of literature about this exciting season, including A Visit to the Apple Orchard, our class decided to brainstorm all of the wonderful ways apples can be eaten! While working in cooperative groups, the children wrote original “apple recipes” using Student Writing Center. They then drew an illustration of their delicious creation in Kidpix 3. What a fun way to incorporate literature, writing, and creativity with technology! *Please note: All apple recipes were kid created, and not truly “tested”…you may not want to try them at home!
