Snowballs

Our second grade class read many of the winter stories on the list. We liked them all, but couldn't decide which we wanted to share with you. We came back to school from our Christmas vacation on January 5, 1999 after having the biggest snowstorm that some of the children had ever seen. We read Lois Ehlert's book Snowballs and  knew we wanted to make our own "snowman". The students each made a snow creature similar to the ones in the story. The students wrote a cinquain to describe the snow and the creatures they made.
