Mrs. Segreto's Second Grade Class |
As the winter unfolded, our class began exploring other "frosty" regions of the globe. One of our favorite books, Little Penguin's Tale by Audrey Wood, takes place in a snowy polar world. Grand Nanny Penguin tells a story to the little penguins. The first ending of this tale is not a happy one. So, she tries again and changes her first ending. We did too! Here are some other endings written by a few of us. We hope you like these too! | |
"Look at me!" Little
Penguin yawned. I'm falling asleep by the deep, dark sea." When he woke up a giant
leopard seal was next to him! He chased the penguin all around the sea! The penguin went
back home safely with his friends and Grand Nanny. Well
some of his best tail
feathers were gone! Thats O.K. He does not care
I think.

feathers." He could never find his feathers again. The end.

"Look at me!" Little Penguin
yawned. I'm falling asleep by the deep, dark sea." All of a sudden, an emperor
penguin came out of the sea! Who do you suppose came up behind but Grand Nanny! They went
on a long, long, long, trip to Jamaica. They got a souvenir. Then they went home. The
whale was waiting. They started to play tag! Then they played volleyball. Then they played
house! "Can I be the mom?" said Whale. "Of course." said Little
Penguin. They started snacking on cookies! I never knew that whales and penguins could eat
cookies! They snacked and snacked on cookies. They lived happily ever after. By Alicia |

"Look at me!" Little Penguin yawned. I'm falling asleep by the deep,
dark sea. What a title wave?" Then the little penguin saw his nanny penguin looking
for him. He ran to his nanny penguin before the title wave hit. By Jonathan |

"Look at me!" Little Penguin yawned. I'm falling asleep by the deep,
dark sea. Hey, I shouldn't sleep here. I will get eaten by a big whale!" So the
little penguin went to the boat and went home.
