Mrs. Chartier's First Grade Class

When our first grade class listened to The Wild Toboggan Ride by Suzan Reid and Eugenie Fernandes for the first time, we laughed and laughed! There were so many great characters. But who were the most important ones? We decided that they were Grandpa Dan and Nicki. It was fun to think of words that described them. That Grandpa Dan - he was always saying something funny like "Fiddlesticks to snow!" He seemed pretty grumpy, especially at the beginning of the story. Nicki was a "regular" kid just like us, we decided. She liked snow a lot, and she was pretty nice. What if we pretended to be either Grandpa Dan or Nicki? What would we like? Where would we live? What would we eat? Have fun reading our thoughts!
