When we chose to participate in the Frosty Readers project, we were dreaming of snow. We live in South Carolina, which doesn't get to see too much snow. That's why we decided to read the book Dream Snow by Eric Carle. Students wrote in their journals about what their "dream snow" would be like.

My Dream Snow

If I could have the snow I wanted, it would be ten feet tall. It would be the biggest snow you have ever seen. We would have a door at the top of the house. We would make the biggest snowman you have ever seen. We would make snowballs the size of watermelons. We would have a big snowball fight. That's what my dream snow would be like.
Dylan

Dream Snow

My dream snow would be silver snow and rainbow colors. And they would be the biggest snowflakes ever. It would be 10 feet high every time it fell. If you ate some it would taste like skittles and Mountain Dew. The icicles would taste like chocolate fudge. And last, it would be kind of warm so nothing on my body would freeze to death.
Lauren

Snow Dream

My favorite snow dream would be snow piled up to the windows. I wish the snow could be rainbow colored with my favorite colors - blue, purple, yellow, and green. I wish I could make candy out of the snow. I wish it would snow so much that I didn't have to go to school for two weeks.
Chadi

Dream Snow

One day, I said...dream snow, I wish you came every day. The next day I said...dream snow, I wish you were really high. The next day I said...dream snow, I wish you were gold and silver. The next day I said...dream snow, I wish you snowed inside. The next day I said...dream snow, I wish you snowed at school. And the next day I said...dream snow, turn into real snow!
 Jacob

However, during our Frosty project, we received 4 - 5 inches of real snow!! That is BIG news for us around here. That's when we decided to compare real snow with our dream snow using a comparison chart in Inspiration on the computer.

To wrap up our Frosty project, we tried to illustrate pictures like we saw in the story Dream Snow. We used KidPix Deluxe to create our drawings on the computers. Can you guess what our dream snow covered up when it fell? Click HERE for our slide show.
