We began our
project by reading Owl Moon by Jane Yolen. We also read
Snowflake Bentley by Jacqueline Briggs Martin to learn
about snowflakes and the man that devoted his life to learning
all he could about them. Finally we read All You Need for a
Snowman by Alice Schertle. We live in California so we do
not have much experience with snow.
Then we
made a list of things that are a part of winter. Using our list
we created poems about winter. Then we used
Kid Pix to draw a picture of one thing from our poems.
Finally we imported our pictures into Word so we could use our
pictures as a watermark behind our poems. Here are some examples
of our work.
