I read aloud
the book Snow Day by Betsy Maestro and Old Winter
by Judith Benet Richardson to my class of 22 first graders. We
have had numerous snow delays, but, thankfully, no snow days
this school year. We discussed what it would be like to have a
lot of snow for a long time. In Snow Day we talked about
the many things that happen when a snow storm hits so hard that
school has to be cancelled or delayed. In Old Winter we
saw what might happen if old man winter decided to stay around
a little too long.
As our
technology component we used Kid Pix in the computer lab
to create our own scenes of what a snow day might look like.
Below are some examples from our class.
