The Snowy
Day by Ezra Jack Keats was used as a read aloud in my class.
We then discussed the text and analyzed the text. The students
were then asked to select a section of the text with which they
could identify. They then wrote and drew their own stories and
illustrations, based on the text-to-self experience. Most
students could identify with playing in the snow.
During our
scheduled computer lab period, the Technology Coordinator
assisted us in using Kidspiration, Microsof Word ClipArt and
Paint to recreate each child's work on the computer.
