Project Objective

The goal of this project is to create and share literature based learning activities.

Summary

  1. Participants will select a book with a winter theme and read it as a Read Aloud or Shared Reading.
  2. Students in grades K-5 will participate in a response activity based on the story.  This can be done as Independent Writing, Modeled/Shared Writing, or Interactive Writing.
  3. The teacher will select one writing sample for publication on this project's web site.
  4. The teacher will create a follow-up activity in any content area using Kidspiration software.
  5. The writing sample and Kidspiration file will be e-mailed to the project coordinator for publication.

The Kidspiration files will be a shared resource which can be revised and saved as a template.  Example

Interactive Components

Project participants will receive an invitation to contribute to our team blog.  The blog will be an area to share ideas, best practices and resources. Participants can brainstorm, problem solve, give moral support, display photographs, audio files and stories.  Example
