Prewriting Procedure We modeled what a cinquain is. Writing Students were charged with the task of writing two cinquains about fall. Students with mixed abilities were paired together. Students chose one of their two cinquains to submit to the class. Editing Cinquains were shared in a group. Editing decisions were made together. Assessment: Students were placed in groups and were given a check list reviewing the cinquain format. Students checked to see if the poem contained 5 lines, 2 descriptive words,3 action words, 1 feeling, and 1 synonym. |
