Mrs. Dunn's Second Grade Class |
Winter in Michigan is long, gray and cold so in our second grade class of 24 children we have been eagerly awaiting the Changes of Spring. We took hikes along the Red Cedar River, which runs along the back of our school grounds and read books and generally anticipated what will be happening as the weather warms and the days grow longer. We wrote the following cinquain poems to show how we feel about Spring. The kites on which we wrote the poems make a wonderful bulletin board, as you can see: |

We also enjoyed the poems in the books listed and then made Kidspiration graphic organizers about our favorites. (Some of the graphic organizers list the child who made it as the author and some of them list the poem’s writer as the author).
