| There was
a mother bat who had a baby and she named the baby Stellaluna. They went to go find fruit,
but an owl spied them and attacked them. The baby bat, Stellaluna dropped down and landed
on a branch. When she couldn’t hold on any longer, down, down she went and she fell

| Once upon a time
there lived a mother fruit bat and her baby. They were attacked by the owl and her baby
fell off mamas breast and fell into a bird’s nest. Their names were Pip, Flitter and
Flap. Mama bird came home with a grasshopper and Stellaluna ate it up. Their wings were
ready so they tried their wings out and flew and flew all day. Pip said, "It’s
getting dark. Let’s go home." Stellaluna flew away and found her mama. They went
