| Punakaiki is the home of the famous Pancake Rocks and Blowholes. The rocks, as you can see in the background of this page, are limestone and give the appearance of pancakes. We were very fortunate to be there at high tide. The water surges into caverns below the rocks and squirts out geyser-like blowholes that are beyond belief!
