| An eight hour flight from Hong Kong (leaving at 11:30 PM) brought us to Sydney airport around eleven thirty in the morning, Sydney time. We checked into the Victoria Court Hotel. Shirley warned me before we left that Sydney was having a heat wave. It was very, hot and I forgot the cold winter in New York. We only had a day to spend in Sydney, but we made the most of it. Australia is on my list of places to visit in the future. |

We took a ferry to Manly and wanted to swim at the beach but there were "blue bottle" jellyfish that are known to give painful stings. |
