We had a wonderful time exploring whales.  We had already done some whale work when we did a unit on polar animals.  This was a great opportunity for us to go into more depth about the wonderful world of whales.  By far, the most interesting fact that we found out was that whales do in fact have belly buttons!  We hope you enjoy our graphs, haiku, and fast facts.  Our class web got so large, we had to write very tiny to get everything in.

Whale Stories

The first time I saw a killer whale was at Disney World.  The killer whale is 32 feet long.  It was black and white.  It flipped in the air.  It was beautiful.  I got to give food to the killer whale.  She had a black fin.  She ate fish.  She can jump out of the water.  I rode on her back. She had a baby.  Killer whales can be scary.

When I met a whale, we had fun.  We sang and played together.  We went out to eat.  We swam in the ocean.  Then we rode on our bikes.  We played with other whales.  We ate some snacks.  We went to Mexico.  She was black and white with red dots.

When I rode the whale, I was scared at first.  Then I had to go and put on my suit.  The whale that I rode on was an Orca. We went under water.  I fed it some fish.  It did tricks.  There were other sea animals in the water too.  There was another whale in there too.  You could see me in the water.  When I got out, I went into the aquarium.  There was a blue whale there.
