We
had a whale of a time learning about whales and comparing them
to sharks. After reading several books
we used the information to create our own books, diagrams, and
mobiles. We had so much fun painting the large ocean
animals that our fourth and fifth grade buddies created for
us. To assess our learning, Mrs. Silverman created an
activity for us to do with Kid Pix. Here are some photos
for you to enjoy.

We
had so much fun working on this Kid Pix activity. First we
categorized whales and sharks. We learned how to use the
cut and paste tool for this. After moving the whales and sharks
to their proper places there was an empty space on the
top. We used this space to draw our own pictures. We
then found our own Kid Pix stamps of whales and sharks and added
them to the correct areas. When we were finished we typed
our names. If you have Kid Pix Version 3 you can click here
and download this template. Here is what the template
looks like and a completed activity. Mrs. Silverman was so
impressed when she saw how much we learned about whales and
sharks. She also thinks we are excellent graphic artists!
