We read the book The Mitten by Jan Brett. We used masks downloaded and printed from Jan Brett's website to act out the story. Using a sheet, the characters squeezed under to role play the action of the story. It was really fun! |

| The students created their own mitten designs on a left mitten. When completed, they randomly picked a different mitten to copy. They had to recreate the pattern on the right mitten, which took some thinking! | |

| The mittens were then stuffed with newspaper and attached together with a piece of thick, white yarn. They were hung in the classroom for all to enjoy! | |
