The Snowman

By Raymond Briggs

Ms. Dunn's Class

Lincoln Elementary School

Madera, California

Our class read The Snowman by Raymond Briggs. Each student was given a frame from his wordless book to write a story about. The stories are a result of a round robin writing activity. Students responded to a question about the setting, characters, or plot and then passed it on to another student. Each student took the contributions of the other students and wove it into a story.

Later he ate breakfast. Then he went outside and built the head and got things for the smile and eyes, buttons and a nose. The day ended. He brushed his teeth and went to bed. It was morning when he woke up. He ran outside. The snowman melted. He was sad.
