Maybe us ladybugs are lucky, because out of all of us, I happened to survive.  It was a good thing that I was short.  My mom did say that I was special being the shortest of our ladybug family, but I had a feeling me being a boy had something to do with it.

Another thing that helped me survive was probably my great skills in playing hide and seek.  My mother called the game camouflaging and my father said that I was so good in the game because I was one of the few spotless ladybugs.  I heard that the spots my friends had might show up on my body when I became an adult.  Since today was my birthday, it may happen any day now.

Coleo the Ladybug, hoped that he would get home before he would see his newly formed spots.
