“I can’t believe they had to cheat to win,” said Frankie.

“Yeah,” Eric dived in the conversation.  “They're only like twenty-five years old too.”

“WAIT,” said Andrew.

He turned back to the Bike Gang who were laughing and joking to themselves.  “You said you have to win by two points.  Remember?”

The Bike Gang looked at the younger boys very arrogantly  and said “Guys, the game is over.  We won, you lost, and we have your ball.”

Eric had just about had enough.  “We made a deal that you had to win by two points,” Eric said viciously.  “Why can’t you follow through with our deal?  We’re only twelve years old, and you’re what? Twenty-five?”

Andrew and Frankie couldn’t believe Eric stood up to these kids like that.  However, it really worked for the boys.  The Bike Gang became infuriated, but they agreed to finish the basketball game.

The Bike Gang took the ball out, but were so disheveled that they immediately turned the ball over.  The three young boys, Andrew, Eric, and Frankie were beginning to gain back their confidence.

“Number three!” yelled Eric.

Andrew and Frankie cleared the lane to let Eric take the ball himself.  Eric drove to the hoop and pump faked to the left side, moved the ball to his right side, and took a shot.  Swish!  He made a shot.  The score was now tied seven to seven.

Andrew took out the ball, passed it to Frankie, who passed it over to Eric.  Eric looked around and in the corner of his eyes he saw Andrew, waving his hand.

“I’m open,” Andrew said.
